Temple of Minerva

It is located in the Town Hall, erected in 30 BC and probably dedicated to Hercules. It was transformed into the church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in the 16th century and is one of the best preserved Roman temples in the ancient world.

Papal Basilica of Saint Francis

An icon that brings the image of Assisi to the world. The construction of the basilica of San Francesco began two years after the death of the saint, under the direction of Friar Elia, faithful friend of Francis. In the crypt rests the body of the Poverello of Assisi.

Rocca Maggiore

Fortified structure that dominates Assisi of the high dating from 1173-1174, when Cristiano, archbishop of Mainz, who occupied Assisi on behalf of Frederick Barbarossa stayed there. In 1198 it was destroyed by a popular uprising and rebuilt by Cardinal E. Albornoz in 1962.

Basilica of Saint Clare

The Basilica of Saint Clare in Assisi, in gothic style, dominates the square with its pink stone facade of Subasio. Built in the thirteenth century, it houses the remains of Saint Clare, founder of the Poor Clares, and the Crucifix of San Damiano, who spoke to San Francesco. Inside, the frescoed naves and mystical atmosphere offer a unique experience.

Mount Subasio

Mount Subasio, natural symbol of Assisi, is a green oasis overlooking the Umbrian valley. With its 1,290 meters high, it offers scenic trails ideal for trekking, hiking and horse riding.
